Amtrak Tcu Agreement

“Our members will soon have an agreement that provides for significant percentage pay increases – thousands and thousands of dollars – without lump sums. Our health care has been fully protected, including our pre-retirement medical benefits, and all work rules have finally been protected. NO CHANGES.¬†For years, Amtrak has insisted on one-time lump sums, instead of actually increasing percentages and drastically reducing our health services. The TCU and our coalition partners have maintained the line – the TA provides for significant percentage pay increases and our health care has been protected. Full details of the agreement will be made available to each member as part of a comprehensive ratification package to be presented by mail in the coming weeks. The full agreement will then be published on the TCU website. We are in the process of preparing the ratification material for each member`s shipment. A full ratification package is scheduled for February 1, 2018, with the final return date for the vote on February 27. Upon receipt of the ratification package by the members, the agreement is published on this website.

As has already been reported – TCU Carmen, Clerks, On-Board Service Workers and Supervisors have reached an interim agreement (TA) with Amtrak, iAM, IBB, IBEW, SMART Mechanical, NCFO, TWU and UNITE-HERE after three long and controversial years of negotiations. Subsequently, SMART-Transportation (formerly UTU) also signed a similar agreement. The TA now covers 70% of Amtrak`s employees. Members who, for whatever reason, do not receive a ballot may request a vote by addressing TCUTA@tcunion.org. Questions about the agreement can also be addressed to TCUTA@tcunion.org. Each ratification package is specific to TCU crafts. Each TCU trade is a separate ratification process. Ballot papers are sent to members` addresses.
